Sanjay Kalidindi

Running a marathon has always been a lifelong goal of mine, and when I decided to run the Chicago marathon this year, I knew right away that I wanted to run it with ASHA. I have been working with ASHA for a few months now, and in this short time I have become very passionate about the work the organization does and have been able to see first-hand the enormous impact it has in poor underserved parts of India.

As someone who was born in India and goes back to visit on a regular basis, it is very difficult to express how much it saddens me to see the living conditions of some of these underserved families. Though I do not know them on a personal level, seeing so many kids that look so much like me, struggling with every aspect of their daily lives, hits me hard. Being able to give back and help these families in a meaningful way has always been a dream of mine. Education is one such way that I can help give back!

A child’s education should not be a privilege, it should be a right. It is a right that can lift millions of people out of poverty and change the world for the better.

I am proud to be given the opportunity to run for Asha this year and do my part to help change a child’s life. Please join me in my journey by donating to ASHA for Education! Every dollar counts!
